Thousands of Christians point to a short-term missions experience as a defining moment in their lives. Our “Jesus Is Life” short-term teams are no different. They can be one of the great tools the Lord uses to shape the hearts and minds of believers to carry out the Great Commission.
Equal to the dramatic impact upon the participants is the impact upon those we go to serve. It has been our experience that the national people we come alongside are touched by the expression of sacrifice from our team members. There truly is no monetary value that can be placed upon the ‘power of presence.’
One specific goal of World Mission has been to take people out of their comfort zone and expose them to the ‘reality’ of cross-cultural missions. Each team has a work project that ties directly into the vision of the local church. We also attempt to touch a physical need in the community as each area has specific health related issues. Some are basic like providing readily available medical supplies while other scenarios are more intense such as the need to counsel victims of sexual assault.
Finally and most importantly, every “Jesus Is Life” team delivers the Word of God through The Treasure. Our teams have distributed literally thousands of audio Bibles to illiterate people around the world.
