Project Abraham
Many Christians believe The Great Commission started when Jesus spoke about making disciples of all the nations or people groups in Matthew 28. But when we look farther back, we see that the purpose and intent of God in seeing His name exalted throughout all of His creation started in Genesis! His catalyst to implement this great plan? Abram.
In Abram, God reveals His plan of redemption. God said to Abram, “in you all the families of the earth will be blessed” (Genesis 12:3; Genesis 26:3-4, 28:14). God later renamed Abram to Abraham, which is translated “father of a multitude of nations” (Genesis 17:5; 22:18). The “Abrahamic Covenant,” God’s promise to Abraham, is an instrumental event in the story of redemption.

Project Abraham is a strategy to adopt People Groups! We are asking individuals, business leaders and churches to consider adopting one of the 15,969 people groups in the world. We are placing a priority upon the last remaining unreached people groups. What is an unreached people group?
- A people group among which there is no indigenous community of believing Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize this people group. 2% or less are evangelical.
- Currently there are over 6,429 “unreached” people groups
- These groups account for 39.6% of the world’s population
- Many of these groups are minority language groups, are less likely to be literate, and have little interest in becoming literate.
“All nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord, they will bring glory to your name.”
- Psalm 86:9

Project Abraham Partnership
By adopting a people group through Project Abraham you are becoming a direct participant in the fulfillment of the Great Commission! You will become aware of the culture, location, dialect and religion of this people group. We will send you quarterly updates about what God is doing through your participation.
What do we need from our Project Abraham partners?
- We need you to pray daily for this lost people group.
- We need you to recognize that Project Abraham is about investing in people groups for the long term.
- We need you to inform your church, family and friends about the condition of this people group and how God is going to use you to impact them for eternity. You will need their prayers!
- We need you to give financially so that we can make their language available in an audio format and distribute The Treasure!
What is the role of World Mission as it relates to your people group?
- We will send you an information packet about this people group to help you understand their culture, language and religion.
- We will pray regularly with you for this lost people group.
- We will make sure that a network of Christians from that area is in place to distribute The Treasure, lead and disciple people to Christ and plant churches.
- We will provide you with quarterly updates and testimonies so you can stay informed on their progress.
We will recognize you with a plaque at our annual dinner event.
